FIRST Line has a long history of providing immediate assistance for a wide range of community needs including food, shelter, financial assistance and general consumer information. FIRST Line, a program of the Forsyth County Public Library, strives to improve the quality of life for community residents by increasing access to information and services.

FIRST Line Highlights:

  • Assisted over 15,000 callers providing information and referral to needed services.
  • Successfully transitioned to the role of NC Care Link data partner using web based software to upload resource information to the public web portal and link with other local agencies serving seniors and people with disabilities.
  • Formed new partnerships with the Housing Authority of the City of Winston-Salem Service, is now affiliated with the Forsyth County Aging and Disability Connection and NC Care Link.
  • The 2008 Directory of Community Resources is available and selling fast.
